Allergy season is upon us and only the strong will survive. For some, allergies are a year-long struggle, especially if you compound out seasonal allergies with the ones that come from our furry friends in the home. Thankfully, there are things you can do instead of always using over the counter medications if you're not ready for that step. Here are some blends you can use the next time you begin to feel those pesky seasonal allergy symptoms.
- 10 drops of lavender oil
- 10 drops of lemon oil
- 10 drops of tea tree oil
Diffuse this mixture to open up the nasal passage and feel more relaxed as you fall asleep.
- 5 drops of Sandalwood oil
- 5 drops of Frankincense oil
- 5 drops of Ravensara oil
One study identified the benefits of this mixture to treat allergic rhinitis, otherwise known as hay fever or seasonal allergies. Through the practice of aromatherapy, these symptoms were seen to have a positive effect on the severity of the allergies on participants. Mode of use can be by a diffuser or applying it on the skin. As a reminder, some oils need to be diluted before applying to the skin.
- 2 drops of Eucalyptus oil
- 2 drops of Lavender oil
The Eucalyptus may help with opening up the nasal passage and the lavender assists with the calming. If you plan to apply it, do not do so on or near the face to avoid irritation of the skin. Mode: diffuser.
